The service

noots is a calorie tracker for iPhone. You write down what you eat — as text, a photo, or a barcode — and noots estimates the calories and macros, with sources shown. Your data syncs privately across your devices.

Estimates, not exact values

Important: the calories and macros in noots are estimates, not exact values. Even official nutrition labels are legally allowed to be off by up to 20%, and restaurant and menu figures are often further off. Use the numbers in noots as a guide to get a sense, not as exact facts.

noots does not provide medical, nutritional or health advice. Do not make medical decisions based on the app. Consult a doctor or dietitian if you have health concerns, are pregnant, or have a history of an eating disorder. Do not use noots if you notice that counting calories is not good for you.

We make no guarantee that the estimates are correct, complete or fit for any particular purpose.

Your account

You are responsible for your account and credentials, and for what happens under your account. Provide accurate information and keep your credentials secret.

Age

You must be at least 16 to use noots. If you are younger, you need permission from a parent or guardian.

Subscription and payment

noots offers 3 free days. After that, a subscription costs €8,99 per month, unless stated otherwise in the App Store. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.

• Payment is handled through your Apple ID in the App Store. Apple manages the payment; we never receive full payment details.
• You can cancel at any time in your Apple ID subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period.
• Refunds follow Apple’s policy.
• We may change the price or the contents of the subscription. We announce significant changes in advance.

Acceptable use

You use noots only for your own personal use and in a lawful way. You may not misuse the app, attempt to reverse-engineer it, or use it in a way that harms the service or others.

Your content and our ownership

What you write in your notebook stays yours. The noots app itself, its design and the underlying technology are owned by nh-digital and may not be copied or reused without permission.

Availability

We provide noots “as is” and do our best to keep it working well, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. We may add, change or discontinue features.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damage arising from your use of noots, including decisions you make based on the estimates. Nothing in these terms limits your mandatory consumer rights.

Termination

You can stop using noots and delete your account at any time. We may terminate or suspend access if you breach these terms or misuse the service.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Dutch law. Disputes are submitted to the competent court in the Netherlands, unless the law provides otherwise.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using noots after a change, you agree to the new terms.
